<< How much is worth a used diammond monster fusion now a days? >>

The diamond monster fusion being an old 3dfx bansee based video card is usually sold for roughly US$15, I've seen some sold for $20 but they were in great condition and boxed etc.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want that particular card?

If you wanted a 3dfx card, thats understandable, and a V3 would be very cheap, but a Banshee???

Cheap, excellent 2D visual quality, very reliable, GLide.

All of the above could factor in to someone purchasing an older V3 or something of the like.

I agree, if you want a cheap 3dfx card then the V3 is the way to go, the Banshee wasn't very good. Hey even my Savage4 gave much better performance than my old 2themax banshee and my S4 did 32bit and had metal for Unreal.

Nah, those aren't good enough reasons Rand.
1. GeForce 1/MX/Radeon LEs/VEs/SDRs are "cheap", and way faster and more modern than V3s
2.Radeons have better 2d than V3s
3. Reliable?! If it's not an S3 product, it's "reliable"
4. Glide. Booyah, the Dead Sea scrolls of APIs

Banshees are pretty much worthless. No multitexturing alone makes them more than obsolete.

I think you need to get new drivers because the latest banshee drivers have opengl support!

<< Didn't banshee cards perform worse than one Voodoo 2 card? >>

Yes in general that is correct but with some games the banshee outperforms the voodoo2. The reason the banshee is generally slower than the v2 is because it only has one texture unit while the v2 has two.
Not all games take advantage of two texture units however! (Please correct me if I'm wrong because I havn't owned a banshee for a few years!)

Reason 1. "Cheap" is relative... their all more expensive then a V3.
Reason 2. I disagree. IMHO the 2D visual quality of the V3/4/5 edges out a Radeon by a small amount, though it's still definitely beaten by Matrox.
Reason 3. Yes, reliable. The drivers are rock solid and they are extremely reliable cards.
Reason 4. Dead, yes. But many people still play older GLide only games. And you need only look to EA for a company that still supports GLide as well as DX in most of their latest products.

Correct, though any modern game supports multitexturing.

and...? What is that supposed to mean, "any modern game supports multitexturing?" I have a Kyro II that does multi-texture fillrate pathetically, but does it do bad in games? No!

Personally, I'm trying to get a VooDoo 5. It is a great, rock solid card with the best FSAA. Also, my N64 emulator requires Glide; another reason to get it. I will also be doing a little gaming on the side (I'll do the most gaming on my primary system with the Kyro II, but I want a stable secondary system), so the VooDoo 5 is perfect for me . It's actually my favorite video card...

Okay, I'm confused....
All I said was any modern game supports multitexturing, what is incorrect about that statement?
And what does the Kyro 2's performance (or any other card's performance) have to with whether a game supports multitexturing?

Hey I was looking for 3dfx stuff at the homepage and seen a quatum 3d voodoo5 6000 in sli
It looks cool as hell. The article is almost a year old, but it is the 2001 video card preview.

Quantum3D has cards in their CAD systems with up to something like 16 VSA100 chips on a boards... kinda makes the V5 5500's 2 VSA100's pale in comparison
