If you mean prestigious in terms of racing pedigree, then Ferrari.

But to rich ppl, its more prestigious to have a Lambo than a Ferrari. I mean anyone [in the rich crowd] can afford a 360 Modena, but how many own a Diablo or a Murcaliago?

How many own an Enzo, F50, F40 or 575M?

Lambo has been passed over by many people over the years. Chrysler, Proto something-or-other, now in the hands of VW. Nobody wants the damn brand. I'm surprised VW picked them up. And the Murcielago is ugly as sin. Woof!!!!

I don't mean the models, I mean the brand. When it comes to prestige among the ignorant rich crowd, it doesn't matter if you own a 575M or Modena. It's only the badge that counts. Same goes for luxury cars, when they hear BMW or Audi their ears perk up, they can't tell the difference between an S4/A4/A6/etc..

There are more Ferraris in the market than Lamborghinis (partly because Ferrari has more models), that reduces its prestige since its more common.

Note, I'm not talking about it from a car enthusiast's POV where it matters to us if its a Enzo or a Modena. I'm talking about it from the POV of those people who wear white sweaters around their neck, goto their country club talking about how they bought the latest peice of antique furniture (that looks like ass) for some ridiculous price. Pretty much the Frasier-type ppl.

Are you serious? Ferrari.

Do you guys know the story of Lamborghini? He was a wealthy tractor builder in Italy and one day he was complaining to Enzo Ferrari about one of his cars when Enzo shrugged him off and said why don't you stick to what you know best (tractor building). That pissed off Lamborghini, so he set out to build his own car.

Yeah I know. Thats why its so cool. The guy went out to make his own damn car. Hey Porsche made tractors too!

NFS4, I like Frasier too, but sometimes his character pisses me off.

Just so you guys know, I'm not one of those country club assholes - I wear sporty clothes and I only have one friend who drives a BMW (rest of them drive "regular" cars).

Well, you left out the reason why he was complaining to Enzo - the clutch on all his Ferrari's kept burning out. Not the best build quality, if you ask me.

Ferrari.

It doesn't get much more prestigious than the prancing horse. They have defined "dream car" for generations.

Btw, if anyone can tell me how to make this into a poll, I'd very much appreciate it (couldn't find an option for it when posting).

Ferrari, undoubtedly.

Lamborghini makes some very nice cars, but they're in an entirely different league than Ferrari.

Both awesome in their own right, but when prestige counts Ferrari is the way to go.

As Indian said, in terms of racing history, I suppose the Ferraris.

But in terms of looks and what I'd pick, it would be the Lamborghini.

There is a Lamborghini dealership on the same block as my house. I don't think I've ever seen anyone in there.

They're OK looking, but I like the Ferrari's much better.

My fave are still the Porsches. But I got a Prius.

oh, please.. "of course! you couldn't be snooty because you wear sporty clothes!"

Anyways, for what it's worth, I prefer Ferrarris even though I see a lot more of them on the road than a Lamborghini. I think Lamborghini has somewhat of a "wow" factor just because you never see them on the road, but personally I'd take the Maranello anyday over a Diablo or whatever else there is out there (i don't keep up with exotics much)

Everybody I know (including my mom, aunts, grandma, etc) would know what I am talking about if I say "Ferrari". Lamborghini is not nearly as famous as Ferrari
