Yea, the only way to go is to build a custom class. Chances are you will have to play a few charactors until you are familier with all the skills. Once you know what skills you like, then restart and build a charactor with those skills.

It took me until my third charactor to get one I was happy with....I spent about 4-5 hours on the first two charectors. My third charactor is a "Native Warrior".

Orc, born under the lady. I like the Magika resistance the Orc has. The Lady gives, +25 Personality, +25 Endurance, cant beat that!

Main Skills:

Block
Heavy Armor
Destruction Magika
Long Sword
Athletics

Minor Skills:

Alchemy
Marksmen
Security
Medium Armor
Armorer

I'm not sure I have the creativity or patience to create a custom class. I think I might try a nightblade, they look cool. A mage type with thief abilities. sounds fun.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I want:

Morrowind (you guys convinced me. At first, I thought maybe not because initial reactions were like "so so." But it seems after you get into it this game is the bomb).
GTA3
Soldier of Fortune 2

I don't have enough money for all. Quick, buy some games below in my sig!

Excellent review skace Check here and you may even want to paste yours as it's a great consumer driven revi site.

I'm still playing Disciples II but this will be the next game once it gets a little cheaper or if Warcraft III should ever come out.

Well, I finally finished up finals and immediately ran out and bought Morrowind. WOW! This game rocks. I played Daggerfall for a couple of years so this is really nice.

I'm running a 900 T-bird, 512MB Ram, and a GF2mx. It runs good enough to play without getting pissed (with everything set about half and shadows off 1024x768).
I'll be getting a new Vid card in about a week.

Where is the SafeDisc crack? I've searched for it without any luck.

Thanks!

Has anyone run it on a xbox and PC both? How does it look on xbox? I guess it would not have the performance issues and it might be cheaper to get the xbox than to upgrade your whole system just for one game!

Well... you guys convinced me (plus IGN gave it a 9.3). I went ahead and ordered my copy from EBGames.

The only thing is... it says "Order on Hold." AAAHHHH... Hopefully that is only because I ordered on the weekend and not because they are out of stock.

To the guys worried about performance

I have played it on three systems this weekend.

-a duron 850, GF2 GTS, 256 megs ram
-a tbird 1.4c, GF3-ti200, 256 megs ram
-a P4 2.53, GF-3ti-500, 512 megs ram

And can say it's makes little difference between the platforms, all show processor usage of 98% and all get slow compared to any other 3d engine Ive seen. With that said it still performs basically equally equivalent on all the systems so if your worried about lack of hardware, don't. You'll be fine with anthing purchased within' the last 2 years IMO. The game also has some bugginess which leads to system locks sometimes and I would wait for a patch before buying at this point. These and many other issues are addressed at the www.elderscrolls.com forums site.

As for the gameplay itself, it's pretty good except for the nebulus stats which they don't explain what they mean. For example I have a lvl 5 dark elf with marksmanship of 53 and it's gonvering attribute(agility) of 81. So what does this mean? With BG, which used the D&D ruleset, the numbers were easy to calculate and had concrete meaning other than one value being greater than the other which this game plays to. Also, your fatique stats affects all your actions but by how much we never know. I guess they leave out the complexity of calculatable concepts like THACO and armour class to dumb it down for the masses like 3rd edition did for D&D but I don't like it.

Another thing is we never know much damage your opponet is taking during combat or how tough he is in the first place. No heath status bar and only sometimes is thier an indication that the taget has been hit.

But overall, still worth the 54.73 I paid, because there has'nt been a decent RPG since BGII. And this one has open-ended-ness in spades.

This is one of the best game I've played, I having fun just walking around enjoying the scenery. Loot any ancient, abandoned city that I find along the way, trap a few golden saint soul here and there . Some of the best weapons and armors were found this way. I'm play a redguard scout.

Ha, some guy made a mod that changes the guard barks back to the old-school "HALT HALT HALT!" Man, that brings back memories.

Daggerfall fans can pick it up at the Morrowind Summit.

Daggerfall is a classic, but a major pain in the butt to play cuz it is so huge (which excited me in the beggining but after a while it became boring - although walking from town to town could literally take you days ). Exploring was cool, but character buliding painfully slow so I ended up cheating (best part was when you could fly and slain town guards from mid air!)

Anyhow I was interested in the 'offspring' of Daggerfall but if it goes choppy on XPs 1700+ then what am I suppose to say with my PIII 606Mhz (o/c) with a TNT2-M64..... It will be a slideshow I suppose - would give me time to plan out my strategy I guess.

It is nice to hear though that a lot of things got improved from original DF. Can you still buy houses, store money in a bank and ride horses? How does one travel from place to place........can you do it still on foot? Is it like in Daggerfall where you could choose the type of transportation, resting options and just pay for that and be 'warped' into the desired location?

I think the game has lots of depth to it, it looks beautiful for a 1st person RPG but and it is probalby a huge world to explore - hopefully there is better fun factor incorporated in the game than in DF. Thanks for the feedback ppl, I know more about this game than b4.

How does one travel from place to place
One can walk. You move faster as the game progresses. One can swim. Ditto faster movement later on. One can travel using ships, mage guild teleportation, and silt striders. These generally allow pretty decent movement from one place to another. You also have a mark and recall spell but only one source can be marked for quick transport.

One can also levitate. Useful for getting over those pesky mountains for those who prefer straight lines. I found boots of speed which give you 50 fold movement speed but also make you completely blind.

There may be other means to travel...I'm not very far into the game.

LOL, i remember those guards chasing me! Everytime i hear the door crekaing open sound effect in movies, i think of Daggerfall. Morrowind is a fitting successor to it. One suggestion, DO NOT put athletics or acrobactics as your major skills, you will level up so fast that the game will be stupid.

The one thing i did notice from my short time of playing is that there is no bank to store cash, correct? In Daggerfall you could buy houses, can you in this one. I've played maybe 10 hours so far.

can you still become a vampire/werewolf?

My favorite thing in the 2nd game was taking the absorb magic perk and fireballing my feet.

AFAIK there are no banks, but hopefully someone will make a mod for that.

No property to purchase either. The developers suggest you either mod in your own house if you want to or (if evil) slaughter a family and relieve them of their residence.

Also no carts, horses, or boats. Kind of disappointing, I loved my ship in Daggerfall.

I wish you could mark multiple locations with mark and recall. Those are the coolest spells. I "acquired" a house in Balmora, and I have it marked. I use it as my base of operations when doing Fighter's Guild, Mage Guild and Thief's guild quests. No matter where I am, I can instantly be back at my house. So cool. Anyone know if there are more powerful versions of these spells that allow multiple locations?

When is it out for the Xbox? If it's already out, are there any reviews for it for the Xbox? I don't have a PC that is capable to run this game, so I was thinking about getting an Xbox and Morrowind, play it, and then resell the Xbox

Do you think it will really be that soon? I say it goes gold after the first patch for the PC version is released. This is like one big beta test for the XBOX version.

lol... true that. But I think that it has a good possibility of shipping then. The origional ship date was like the 22nd of this month I believe, so it has already been delayed. And I know someboy who preordered, and EBgames just sent him a email saying that the game is still on scheduel to be shipped on 6/4.

But who knows.
