motherboard dead?

was running along just fine...24/7 for a long time...(ok, I admit it...looking for one of those sob prime things)...came in...all dead...thought maybe power supply...doesn't seem to be...have tried unplugging everything, different memory, video card, power supply, cpu, cpu fan...

when I flip the power supply switch on...I get a momentary (momentary meaning like about a sec or half a sec) light on the motherboard next to the ram slots and the cpu fan spins for about a turn and a half then all goes dead...turn the switch off and back on, same song second verse...help?

Ummm... a few ideas.

1. Bad Power Supply
2. Bios is messed up/ battery is dead
3. Mobo is fried.
4. CPU is fried.

If your computer has been running for a long LONG time, it might be a bad battery for your bios. Cheers.

Make sure your motherboard isn't touching any of the metal drive cages etc. and shorting out.

Check all cables going to the mobo and drives. Try unhooking them and re-hooking them. Sounds like the PSU is bad, but it could also be a short/loose connection.
