The motherboard of a Dell XPS 400 doesn't detect the USB keyboard when it boots. I went through all procedures to see if I could make it work, but I concluded that the motherboard's USB ports are defective. The motherboard has no PS/2 port. Of course, the computer is useless since no keyboard means no booting to OS.
Is there a solution that involves something other than replacing the motherboard? I was thinking of a PCI USB card or PCI PS/2 card, but the motherboard wouldn't detect them before the "Keyboard not found. Press F1 to continue" message.
