Motherboard dying?

I've been having issues with my desktop for about a week or so. It would boot up fine cold, work great for a few minutes, then it would just freeze and be totally unresponcive. When I tried rebooting it, the lights would come on like it was thinking but there were no beeps from the mobo and nothing displayed on the monitor. If left alone for about 10 or 15 minutes, it would boot back up fine. Now it's not loading past the ASUS splash screen. It won't go into BIOS or anything. I'm thinking the motherboard might be dying, but admittedly, I haven't had much chance to test things. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Asus M4A79XTD Evo mobo
AMD Phenom II x4 proccessor
4 gig of OCZ ram
XFX Radeon HD 5770 GPU
535 Watt Enermax PSU

can you get into bios and check the temps? if not is the cpu cooler hot to the touch?
