Nobody's answered you yet here on this question. Are you sure you aren't speaking about a "PWM" fan header, when you say "PVN?"
I am not familiar with your particular Gigabyte board. What does the manual say? Are the SysFan and SysFan2 headers thermally controllable? Are you interested in thermal control of fans, as with the CPU fan header? I would think that the CPU fan header would be a PWM four-pin plug.
Here again, I'm reading things too fast, and I see you're already asking the question I've posed. Unless someone else chimes in here to give something more substantive than my hot air, you might check the user forum for that board at the manufacturer's web-site.
Two generations of motherboards earlier, besides controlling fans from BIOS settings, you could use SpeedFan to control the fans thermally. But some boards, particularly the one I was using then, would only allow the control of the CPU fan through SpeedFan. Surely your Gigabyte board allows for more than that, but I would not know for sure.
