First, I really appreciate all your help in building my new computer.
I have one more question. The new computer has:
AMD XP 2800+ (FSB 333)
ECS N2U400 (FSB 100,133,166,200)
Kingston 3200 memory (FSB 400)
My "current" AGP card is 4 year old Winfast GeForce2 GTS. Have a Rosewill 9200se coming this week.
For now, I think I should be able to set the motherboard to 166 for the FSB 333 of the CPU. But I think I tried that once last night (it was VERY late), and things locked up, and I had to reset CMOS on Motherboard a few times (or let things cool down). Finally, I'm back and running (thanks also to a poster's help with hard drive transfer which I tested with a back-up drive first).
Should I be able to run the motherboard FSB at 166 at least? I think I've seen others that run this combo at an FSB 200 or something in between 166 and 200.
Or is the old video card holding things back? Right now, I'm running the motherboard at the default FSB of 100.
Your thoughts are very much apppreciated.
Thanks again,
Jeff
