Motherboard malfunction?

Hi, i've got a little problem. When i turn on my computer and after POST i see a WinXP loading screen then i encounter a problem. The image becomes spoiled like the one after unsuccessful overclocking (artefacts) and then system is cease to load or even reboot.

My config: P4-2.4(533), asus P4XP-X, 512ddr(NCP), 128mb Chaitech A-FX60 GeForce 5600XT (64bit), WinXP Pro SP2 (rus).

I changed videocard to old GeForce2 Pro 32mb (No-name). After this change system works and passes all the test.

And i also tested my 128mb Chaitech A-FX60 GeForce 5600XT (64bit) on another PC and there it worked without any problems.

What am i suppose to do?

P.S. The system is not overclocked and i've tried a lot of drivers as detonator and bundled.

Have you tried updating the chipset drivers yet? One of the chipset drivers will be for vid/AGP on the mobo. It may be too old and causing the problem with the newer card.

Yes i've tried. But this is relatively new problem which occured recently, i haven't had it before with the same PC configuration. I didn't make any upgrades.

if a change of vga fixed the problem, then that means:
Either your VGA card is at fault,
VGA cmos setting is wrong,
cable????? might possibly be slightly out - [maybe it can take a slower signal/less bandwidth, but not the high bandwidth given out by your chaintech.

WHAT psu are you using?

I think you don't understand me. I still have this problem and change of drivers didn't solve it. I'm still looking for resolution. PSU - SparkMan 250W.

use the 32MB vga card that worked

I think keep on using 32mb card is not the way out. I had my FX5600 working normally, so i'm going to press for that.

check your PSU rails... you may have a dying PSU if it is old. I've had issues with my vid card when my PSU was going. just a thought...
