So I'm getting ready to upgrade from my E8400. Will be getting a i5 2500K

I'm a moderate overclocker (air)

Budget, Under $150
Must have solid caps
Raid
Full size
2 16X PCI-e if possible at this price

I use it for mostly gaming but really everything including video editing

I was looking at this just cause I like Gigabyte http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128512

If you have another suggestion please explain why. Thanks

Well, you're an OC'er, and if you're going for a K model, you'll only want to focus on P67 [make sure it's a B3 Revision] or Z68.
If you don't need the integrated graphics to do fast encoding of media, then I'd save the money and get a P67 board - I did.
I live in the UK, and managed to find a P8P67 Deluxe B3 for an incredibly cheap price, and they're normally above the £200 mark here - got it for £155 brand new. So it was easier for me.

I'd focus on your manufacturer like 'know of fence' said. Personally, I'd go for Gigabyte or ASUS. If you're an OC'er its likely that you've got a mid-tower or full-tower case, so I'd get an ATX board - especially considering that you did mention your preference of two PCIe x16 lanes, which I perceive as a possible future upgrade for a multi-GPU configuration.
Also if you want a GUI version of the uEFI, I'd go for ASUS. The Gigabyte board does technically still use uEFI, it just doesn't have a GUI layout, and instead they opted for the old BIOS representation. If you don't really care, the Gigabyte boards are a good bet. (I've not had issues with either, then again, they're the only two manufacturers I've properly used).

So, I'd say pick out the list of Z68 or P67 boards from those two manufacturers (do pick out other manufacturers if you wish. ASRock is just a sub-company of ASUS), look at the
feature-set of each board, such as solid Japanese capacitors, two x16 PCIe lanes for CFX or SLI, USB3, etc. - and then see what fits your needs, check the prices, and hopefully you'll find what you need.
The best thing is to get your choice down to about 3 motherboards.

Z68 gen 3 boards support upcoming ivy bridge CPUs. P67 will not.
Z68 has ssd caching. P67 does not.
Z68 supports onboard gpu. P67 does not.
P67 is dead..

I like it

I do, too -- I picked this one out for an upgrade we're doing here in the spring. Only thing I'm still unsure of is whether I'll do the SRT thing or just go with an SSD boot drive. Need to research more.

Look at the ASUS P67 BIOS updates, most or all of them say "Enable support for Next Gen 22nm Processor."
Now, I tried to ask ASUS about this, although they didn't answer my question - saying 'to check the CPU compatibility, look at the CPU support list'. I'm face-palming at that fail, as the Ivy Bridge CPUs aren't obviously out yet.

P67 isn't dead. It's still being manufactured. I ordered my new P8P67 Deluxe [B3], to find that it was only made a few weeks ago. There's about a 30% price premium for Z68, if you don't need its features, you may as well go with P67. That's more-or-less what I said in my previous post within this thread. Hehe

Well, you can invest in a small SSD for SRT - most likely a 32 or 64GB drive. At that point you may as well use one as a boot drive [64GB and up]. That'd be the best benefit. This is why all of the Z68 enhancements over P67 won't benefit me, therefore why I went with P67 [unless you find a better Z68 board for a cheaper price, then it's a no-brainer].

And that's what I'm seeing. Im going to use my dedicated GPU so P67 would work. I could add a SSD later or Xfire although not likely. So I see no reason to spend over $125. Unless they overclock better? I do like Gigabyte boards but I read some saying somewhere Gigabyte dont overclock as well

Thanks! Well, I actually live in Europe, so it doesn't matter. The Z68X-UD3 is my only choice.
