My build is stuck at square one.
My Asus A8N-E motherboard will not fit into my Antec Sonata II case. The problem is the back plate where I would attach USB cords, etc. The backplate on the case does not match the plugs on the MB. The MB came with its own backplate, but I can't just remove the Antec backplate and put in the Asus one, there's metal behind the backplate in the case. I'd have to saw through it with a hacksaw.
Has anyone experienced this problem before?
I posted my parts list in this forum and another one and no one mentioned this problem, so I'm really surprised and frustrated by this. My research on Newegg also did not indicate these two parts would not be compatible.
If the answer is "Sorry buddy, you need a new case" does anyone know of a quality case that comes with a 450 watt power supply and that is DEFINITELY compatible with the A8N-E?
