I'm looking to build my own rig. What is a good P4 motherboard? I was looking at what Intel makes, but I think ASUS is better. What do you suggest?

Intel makes a solid mobo. But then, so does Asus and others. The thing with with Intel mobos is that you generally don't get as many features as you would with mobos from Asus and others. The most important factor of a mobo is its chipset. The mobo that you are considering has a 925XE chipset, which is made by Intel. BTW, an EXCELLENT chipset, IMO. You can get that same chipset on boards made by Asus, Abit, and others.

You may want to consider the Abit Fatal1ty AA8XE and the ASUS P5AD2-E Premium and even the Foxconn 925XE7AA-8EKRS2. Foxconn makes the LGA775 socket for Intel and has recently started making mobos.

Compare the features with the Intel mobo.

I'm still curious as to what munruss plans on using the computer for, myself.

"Personal computer" doesn't really say anything. Video editing? Hardcore gaming? Surfing the net and reading email?

Depending on your answer, people could suggest more relevant boards.

But that's just me, and munruss is apparently satisfied, so...

Yes you are right. But, a P4EE user typically won't care about overclocking.

Honestly, I use it for the internet and my everyday nonsense. I'm not into gaming nor editing, however, I want a solid rig. I want this rig to last a long time. So why not go for the gold?

Well if you are doing internet and "everyday" nonsense, go with an Intel. As much as people ay disagree, the Intel's seem a little bit faster when doing office apps and internet, in my opinon.
