Seeing that the new Motor X is what 14 grams heavier but comes with a slightly larger battery and slightly larger screen I don't see it as the end of the world. Plus it has more metal than the last right?

The size and shape are Moto's choice, but I'm disappointed in the lack of SD and the name.

No need to take anything personal it's just a generalization that even if they are making the phone bigger, it's still not as big as the note 4, OPO, nexus 6, etc.

Okay, but that has nothing to do with what I was saying originally. I think going this big is a mistake because it takes away one of the best things about the original Moto X. Phablets are another product category entirely so that's a pretty random thing to say.

Yea I'm a little weary that it does not have an sd card and for 16gb it already will costs $500. I need at least 32gb but 64 would be great.

Everything about the phone is great except for the 2600mah battery.
I would preferred at least 2800mah.
For $300 I can get a LG G2 and wouldn't lose very little.

G2's software is terrible, and the physical back of that phone is perhaps the nastiest plastic I've ever felt.

Moto X gives you clean Android with some useful stuff like voice controls and active display. The voice control in particular is awesome because you can initiate it without ever touching your phone, something very few phones can do. And Active Display does a great job of cutting down on the number of times you actually turn on your phone just to check stuff.

I'm left with the same impression of the new Moto X as I did with the old Moto X. It's a nice phone, but it has specs that are a year old and the price still isn't low enough. A 5 inch 1080p Snapdragon 800 phone with 16GB of RAM cost me $350 a year ago.

Ugh, they ruined the G to with a massive 5 inch screen? Damn. When will this madness stop?
Maybe I can get a cheap first gen X now though.

Whats the difference between the new Moto X and the S5 or even LG G3? All use the newer SD 801. Only difference between those three is that the G3 has a 2k display, which not a lot of people like.

Those two phones are 4 and 5 months old. And I am disappointed they didn't wait for the Snapdragon 805 and a 1440p display also. Both phones have since been updated to include a Snapdragon 805 in some markets (not sure why it's not more widely available though).

Thats your own opinion.
The G2 was the best phone I've ever own.
My wife has one too and she loves it also.
My G2 got blacklisted from the previous owner.
I've been waiting for all the latest phones to come out to see which one I would get or just get a G2 again(only because of value/peformance).
I wasn't dissing the X+1 at all. I like everything about it except the battery is kinda skimpy.
If the battery was bigger, I probably would pay $500 for it vs $300 for the LG2.
Or a LG3 for ~$450 on CL.
Only other phone to choose from the the Nexus X but that won't be another 1, 2 months.
I will never spend ~$600 for a phone again.

16gb of ram? That's pretty damned impressive

Damn, after watching many of the preliminary videos and reading what I could about the new Moto X I really want to buy a 32GB model. I moved my crap back onto my OG Moto X and am giving my One to my wife. I'll wait for a sale to hit first though.

The new Moto G is a joke - no LTE again? WTF.

I still think it's a great value, even without the LTE. It's a 5 inch phone with a respectable 720p display, front facing stereo speakers, and expandable storage for still $180 and probably carrier locked versions much cheaper.

Looks fairly solid, but I'm curious about the battery life. Presumably the larger screen will chew up more battery, but they barely increased the capacity in order to keep the size and weight down. The original X was rather solid in terms of battery performance and perhaps with some of the antenna work that Motorola has done the overall difference won't amount to much if anything.

Maybe G2 builds are significantly less stable than S4/S5, but pretty much every AOSP ROM has a good implementation of Active Display now.

I don't doubt that, but I try not to rely on root/ROMing because it's all YMMV and technically voids your warranty and all that.

I'm curious how Active Display would work on a non-OLED screen though?

What a Terrible release for the 360, I wanted to pick up at the store and no one had it.

By the time I decided just to buy online all sold out. Guess I will wait to buy one.

It works but it likely drains battery pretty badly. But let's not forget the iPhone's screen turns on for every notification and it does decently well in idle battery.

It's like a 100 cheaper than most other phones (retail).
I don't think giant screens are a "feature".

Yeah it was HORRIBLE. I doubt they even had many when they launched? They never even really shows as available and got snatched up by ebayers trying to sell them for $500... I hope no one is stupid enough to pay that.

Is the moto 360 all it was supposed to be? I haven't had time to do any reading but are there things that are left out that were expected and make it disappointing?

Build quality is supposed to be as good as hoped, though not "perfect". Android wear is stock so no difference there.

Some reviewers say it's too big on the wrist, others say it's totally like a normal watch.

The only negative, and it's a doozy, is battery life is craptacular. I think one reviewer had it die every 12 hours of use. Doesn't appear to be able to get through a full day.
