mounting heatsink fan on motherboard?

I have AMD approved 60mm X 60 mm heat sink on 1.4 T-Bird. (solid aluminium with copper bottom) I want to upgrade the fan but not sure if the weight of 80 mm fan blower will be too much for the CPU socket. My motherboard has four holes next to the heatsink. Is there an adapter that I can use to mount an 80 mm fan on this heatsink using those 4 holes so that I do not weight the cpu socket?

Your motherboard will be just fine with an 80mm fan on the HS. Those 4 holes around the ZIF socket are for large heatsinks that are mounted by bolting through the motherboard.

Why does AMD specify weight of the heatsink? I am planning to put Cooler Master Aero Series Blower Fan w/ Adjustable Speed Controller on this heatsink. The heatsink can only take 60 mm fan and has those little wire clips to hold the fan. I do not think that those clips can hold the 60 mm to 80 mm adapter and the blower.

They don't want to be responsible if you try to put a 1 kg super heavy copper heatsink on their cpu and damage it.
