My mouse seems to be randomly moving to the bottom right or top left corners of the screen while I use it, anyone know why it would do this?

It instantly moves to the top left or bottom right corner, I have to fight with it or bang it on the desk to get it to work properly again, happened with two different brand mice so I don't know if it's that I'm using cheap junk optical mice or what. Could it be the surface I'm using them on?

also I just built this computer and it's finally all running smoothly, except this one problem.

The mice I've been using are just cheap junk $10 ones I had around the house as back up.

was behind a firewall when I first set the computer up, immediately when I plugged the connection in I updated my virus definitions and did a scan.

Don't think it's a virus, could be though, I guess I'll scan again.

using Windows and mouse jumps to task bar (near clock) immediately at random times? Yeah, mine does that too, on multiple systems, I think it is a windows bug.

There's a telekinetic person hiding in your closet making your mouse move on its own. Just open up the closet and beat that teke senseless and your problem will be solved.

I suffer from the same inconvenience... it's only with optical mice, though. And yes, I use a non-glossy mousepad surface.
