Looks pretty legal. Didn't read terms, but just from the layout, it looks like Netflix/Gamefly/online rental stores. This is the future of rentals, though, as the industry plans to move toward online streaming to your computer or television (TiVo).

Umm.. I'd say definately not since they advertise the ability to download movies playing in theaters. There is no way that movie companies have agreed to allow that

Seems sketchy to me. Less than $36 for a life time of unlimited video rentals? Also, the site says that the movies are yours to keep once you download them...

Sounds like you pay them and end up with Kazaa or some other P2P thing.

Looks Mickey Mouse to me. Lame website. How can they show Oceans Twelve when it just came out in the theater???

This is on the link that says try it free:
"There are no fees per movie download; all Movies are 100% Free"

When you click on one of the 4-5 links to try it, the page isn't secure, and the looks of the page are scary.

Also, get this. Just below is states:
"To protect your privacy, any charges will discreetly appear as CCBill.com *Getflics on your credit card statement". Now WTF is that about??? Seems entirely shady to me.

Also says Getflics was features on Yahoo, PC Mag, Google, MSN, CBS,BBCi and CNBC. If you google Getflics.com, you get one hit, their website. It's bogus.

Here something to look at:

I like how they have a "Recently featured on" section with Yahoo, Google, and some other sites listed. I can't find mention of them on any of the sites, and searches just turn up their ads and a link to a report at ripoffreport.com of the service not working. Be sceptical.

You might want to read this:

Getflics Ripoff fraudulently misrepresented thier service ignored me and lied to me Internet

On December 20 of 2004 I purchased online a membership to getlics. I used my Discover card to pay $23.88.

This membership was supposed to give me unlimited access to a movie database for one year. I signed up for a 7 day free trial that would rollover to the one year subscription automaticaly unless I cancelled within 7 days. I didn't get anything for my payment. Nothing at all.

The password and ID they assigned me does not work. I tried numerous times to no avail. They refused to reissue me another ID and password! (So right there I'm dead in the water. I can't get into anything without a password and ID)

After I paid the membership fee and after at least an hour of hacking I got to view the movie database. It's nearly all pornographic! I don't want porno.

I phoned them via an 888 number. Explained the situation. The woman told me that she wouldn't credit my discover card because I "signed up for a one year membership and it's started". (It didn't make much sense to me either) I asked her about the seven day free trial. She said "That's not what you clicked on". I told that I wanted my money back or I would complain loudly. She told me "complain all you want to. Your not getting a refund".

Thank you. If I can be of service to you in any way please don't hesitate to get in touch.

dont use the free trial, the service and use agreement states that it authorizes 99 dollars on your cc and holds it for 30 days to secure the full fee should you not cancle.

It also bills the other contarcts rates in one lump sum. I guess they refund unused portion should you cancle, but they dont do it monthly as the service states, kinna wack.

Hmm this is getting more questionable.....
I canceled or closed the billing page, and a popup appeared.
It offered me a better deal of $1.29/mo.
I clicked on the popup deal and its $15.48/year..... Sometimes when the deal is too good to be true...... its not

Did you not bother to read the thread? Someone already posted this information and you are duplicating their effort. Pointless.

Lets think about this for one minute. Do you honestly think that paying 1.99 for (unlimited downloads) for movies that just hit the theater will be legal. (keep in mind that the cheapest rental for a movie that is 3.99; let alone owning the movies) I bet you anything that these movies are cams & screeners that you can download from irc. This is about as "legal" as michael jackson "playing" with kids.

this is kinda funny

the domain getflics.com is owned by 'christopher bridgewood' of 'b-unit consulting'

bunitconsulting.com is owned by 'chris bridgwood' (notice the spelling diff) of 33 apple lane, commack, NY

on October 22, 1999 'ATF Arrests Convicted Felons of Selling Guns and Drugs to Undercover Officers': "STEVEN and NICOLE PERAGINE, ages 33 and 27, of 33 Apple Lane, Comack, N.Y"

my money says that the authorities will be paying another visit to 33 apple lane
