anyone notice that most of all MS sites are down? looks like blaster worm is showing what it can do

Yeah, but I thought it was supposed to be the 16th? (I'm gonna go to a time zone map right now, and check it out. Other computers 'round the world might be doing something.)

blaster has done a good job of slowing windowsupdate down. I kept getting errors this afternoon while trying to patch a computer. What a great worm , too bad a bug in the worm is slowing itself down.

edit: of course it might just be that a billion users are trying to patch their system at the same time and the update site choked hehe

its says 16th but i heard all over the news and talk radio saying it was going to be on the 15th. who knows? but something is going on

i forgot about my laptop and just patched it. windows update didnt want to come up, taking too long. luckily i had a friend who just so happened to have the win xp patch on his system. lucked out. even scanned, clean. whew, close call. disaster for the pc and laptop averted.

When my dad came home today he mentioned to me how he had heard that they were going to target MS sites. Didn't find anything about it on the net so I thought he was just spouting rumors .. maybe not.

As much as I agree that the creators of this worm need to be prosecutred I can't help thinking that maybe people should learn a lesson. Monopolies and massive Corporations aren't always great things because they can sacrifice product quality and get away with it because we let them. This worm attack has made me even more sure of my permanent switch to Linux.
