MS SQL Server vs. Oracle

I work in my company's finance department, and I have to put together a proposal to our I.T. department outlining reasons we may want to switch from MS SQL Server to Oracle. I've used Oracle before (previous company) and was very happy with it, but that won't be enough to sell it. I need to know what are the advantages and disadvantages of each (please feel free to give as much detail, as I can use it to add substance to the proposal).

cgott42 no offense but from what you wrote you gave a good reason why NOT to switch.
if you don't know the advantages and disadvantages whats the point of switching? just cuz you used to use it in your previous company?

Of course, can't spend money just on a whim. However I have used Oracle before to create the product they are interested in, and it works fantastically. I'm willing to go to a different system (MS SQL Server) to save money, however I don't want to find out after the fact, that MS SQL Server is missing some key functionality which I took for granted in Oracle. I'm not knowledgable enough (and forgot a lot) to know all of the features that I made use of in Oracle, so I;m asking what are the difference between the two (both strengths/weaknesses) and also what features each has/lacks. In this way I can determine if MS SQL server will do the job for me.
