MSA1500/Brocade fiber switch configuration

I am new to fiber switches and have been left with an MSA 1500 with two Brocade fiber switches 4/8. No record of passwords or IP addresses of the switches. My predecessor basically left with all passwords to everything. I've gained acces to all the other servers and switches, but am stumped with this one.

I could reset to factory defaults but this a 24x7 production system so really cannot do that.

Is there any way to determine the switches IP address without any information other than they exist and are connected to the network?

Second question, any way to break into a switch similar to a Cisco method? I have physical access to all hardware. And I am not doing anything inappropriate here - trying to recover my company's infrastructure.

Should be able to console into it. I'm sure there is some kind of password recovery, you could always call brocade support...there may be a dial in line they can use to perform remote support.

It dosent say the IP on the display on the front? I know my MSA1000 does. And yeah you can def console into it like a cisco switch, they have a fairly robust CLI.

If his MSA1500 is using Fibre Channel then it won't has an IP address on the display. This is only for devies connected by iSCSI. Brocade switches have a console port on them that you should try first. Brocade used to have a utility on their site to do password recovery on their Fibre Channel switches but it was pretty complicated and required downtime to be performed. I would contact HP (I'm assuming since you said they are 4/8 switches these are HP badged Brocade switches) about doing a password recovery. They can usually walk you through the process.

Also I assume you have tried all the default passwords for root, admin, factory and user?

Thanks, yes I have tried all default. HP would be my next step if nothing turned up here.

It is FC and is a HP branded Brocade 200e switch. Actually 2 of them.

Brocade has redone their support site and there is not much there now for users who do not have a support contract with them. Since this is HP branded, I will need to work thru HP.
