MSI 4830 Lock/Unlockup on Skyrim

Its been a long time since I posted, to the point I had to make a new account! Anyhow I've got a problem where I recently updated my drivers on my old MSI 4830OC 512mb graphics card.

I wasn't having any problems before the upgrade (except one of the drivers seemed to have been corrupted, so I'd get chksum errors once in a blue moon). So I upgraded to the latest drivers 11.12 and ever since, skyrim will freeze then unfreeze after five seconds or so of being locked up.

I know i can revert back, but I was actually wondering what's the best set of drivers for me to use on this 4830? I thought it really shouldn't matter, any thoughts?

The latest drivers will offer the best performance and reliability. Since you're having issues with corrupt drivers, I would suggest uninstalling the drivers, running Driver Sweeper to remove the remnants, then installing the latest drivers. Don't forget to install the latest Catalyst Application Profiles package after you reboot!

If you still have issues, I'd suggest running the Windows Memory Diagnostic from Start, Search, Memory (on Vista and higher, on Windows XP use Memtest86+ and then switch to Windows 7 ASAP). If it finds no errors, run Crystal Disk Info to check the Health Status of your harddrives. Any drives that show Caution (yellow) or Bad (red) are failing and will need to be replaced before the system will work properly.

Good card, I had one that I gave to nephew. Ran Oblivion well.

If you didn't have problems before just roll back the driver. As far as chksum/random occasional skyrim crashes I think that happens to all of us regardless of hardware. I know that once every few days it will crash out on me.
