Is there a tech out there somewhere that can help my system play games.
MSI K7T Pro motherboard with latest 4 in 1 drivers
and all Bios upgrades from 1.1 to 1.6
Athlon 750 Socket A CPU at default FSB
128 meg 133 SD RAM
Voodoo3 3000 AGP Video Card with latest whql drivers at default 166 mhz
50 x Mitsubishi CD Rom
DLink DFE530TX Ethernet Adapter
Creative Live Sound card with Live!ware drivers
Seagate Barracuda ATA66 30.6 gig Harddrive
100 meg Zip Drive
O/S Win ME Upgrade on clean install

Games: NFS3 & 4, ToCA & ToCA2, Colin McRAe Rally, Grand Prix3
Problem is:
Games will load and then crash on start of game
When a game does operate it is with a lot of horizontal conflict lines
and square blocks of pixelation about 19mm.
Any advice please!

Power supply? Sounds like maybe the video card or something else isn't getting enough juice. 3D games, all of them, right?

If you can play some 2d games or browse online, etc no problem, I suspect it might be that.

Try AGP 2X,see if this improves your gaming & make sure Fastwrites are disabled.

Also go into Bios & make sure your ram is at the normal settings(where it says normal, fast ,turbo) this can (did in my case)make 3d games run stable 100%.

OK
have done as suggested without any success.
the power supply and case is amd approved and is running
250 watt power supply which is good for OZ.
Tried lower grahics with no difference to performance.

Dopha,
Check your IRQ status in Device Mangler.
Are any of your devices sharing IRQs? (PCI steering is OK)

IRQ's were ok
just looked now and according to the system it has voodoo3 3ooo
and creative live soundcard in same irq.
looks like the system has swapped irq's around for some reason,
although at start up it didnt show up onscreen through dos

Replaced the MSI K7T Pro motherboard with Asus A7V with bios revision 1003.
Motherboard appears to be functioning extremely well and now able to play at least ToCA and Grand Prix 3.
Looks as though the MSI board is faulty.
