Does this motherboard have ATA/100 built-in? or do I need to install an ATA/100 adaptor card to it?

The Pro2a does indeed have ata100 supported through the 686b
chipset and not an onboard controller or addon card as in the past.

The Pro2 does "NOT" have ata100 support

and the Pro only had support when it was bundled with a promise
pci controller card which was controlled through the moboards
bios.

Moral of the story:

Buy the Pro2a

Already did. But I bought an ATA/100 adaptor along with my maxtor 40gigger just so I could get the rebate. Think I'll just rip off the upc and sell'er.
Sweet...I was contemplating the Pro2 or Pro2a originally. Glad I opted for the A.
