So I have a 3200+ a64 chip, which I know can hit 2.5Ghz at least.
Tested it with some older dual channel pc3200 and a ratio, and it was stable for days in prime95, 2t command rate was the other thing that worked. 200MHz "FSB" at this point, 5X HTT
Got some patriot PC4400, which worked awesome at 250FSB 4XHTT, and 1T command rate. But stupid ecost sent 2x256 and not the 2x512 that I paid for, and only 512mb ram was noticeably slower than the older 1gb ram. So after numerous problems getting my refund for ecost's big time screw-up, I found some PNY Verto PC4000 memory, decent timings and the price was good, so I went for it. So far, all I've gotten is 245FSB 4X HTT and 2t Command - beyond that, superpi gets errors of rounding and sqrs not converging.
Tried a few different voltages on the mem, no change. Power supply is more than adequate.
So i'm trying to figure out where the problem is, anyone got ideas?
