I haven't upgraded my VGA card since 2003, and so my current card is way outdated. I've got about $200 to spend, and right now the card I'm going for is the 6600GT AGP. The MSI 6600GT, to be exact. At newegg it's $156 after rebates. And I've got a couple of questions:
Thanks for the help.
- 1. My mobo has a 4X/8X AGP slot, but it states not to use a 3.3v AGP card in the slot, only 1.5v...so will the 6600GT run on it without screwing it up? Basically...is it 1.5V or 3.3V?
- 2. I know that the 6600GT AGP needs extra juice from the PSU because the AGP slot is not enough. Namely from the +12V rail. I have a 500 watt PSU with 15 amps on the +12V rail. Will it be enough?
Thanks for the help.
