MSI Pro 2 from Multiwave ...!

Hi all.
Well, I got my new board (K7T) from Multiwave ...but, they sent a PRO ...not a PRO 2.
I called ..and they do have the Pro 2. The prob is that the sku is the same for both, and they have both in stock...so be careful.
They are paying for the return of the Pro and sending of the 2 ...so I have to wait a bit longer. Good company ...Multiwave. Just a honest mistake.

I think it's really hard to aviod that happening. Same SKU number is really a trouble... But I think MWAVE is just great!

Yes, multiwave is an EXCELLENT company. I order 3 Soyo 6VBA and 1 Abit VA6 and they all came with CHEAP shipping charges not like the other whom ripped you off. But anyway, I hope you enjoy your new motherboard! I will have one soon..

I agree on Multiwave. I have had trouble with other sites, so I was a bit concerned, and I am sure that I seemed a bit anxious. They handled everything well. I was concerned that I would have to pay some of the freight again, but they e-mailed me a RMA that includes shipping back.

Thanks for the heads up. I already ordered mine and it is in UPS's hands until friday. I also ordered from Mwave and thought their shipping prices were much better than other companies I've ordered from. I may be speaking too soon, but if everything continues to go as it has thus far, I will certainly be using them again.

I just don't get it.

Can someone please explain to me in child terms why Multiwave
is the single only store on this shore that supposedly has this board?

MSI says they have not released it in the US
and the VP of US Marketing swears on a stack of bibles that MWAVE is lying
and that HE hasn't even seen one, let alone shipped one!
Pricewatch shows not a single other store as having it ( I MEAN NOONE)
Yahoo shopping shows noone having it either.

Multiwave says they have them, but when I ask them to take one out of the box
and read between the slots they say it sez PRO, Not Pro2 although Pro2 is on the box!
I ask them if the bios shows multiplier adjustments and the guy sez it does not.

Then Neos orders one and they send him a ONE not a 2 and he still has praise for em.
Maybe the reason they share the same SKU is because they're the same board, a PRO!

Forgive my subtle negativity, but I like others am waiting with patience
and I just don't buy it that people are receiving pro2's from MWAVE although
I am confident that they're receiving pro2 boxes

SO..........

To settle it once and for all and to ensure we sell MWAVE out in about an hour,
will someone who has actually received a pro2 from MWave whip out their
digital camera and take a macro of the marking between the slots that states PRO2
and maybe the bios screen that shows the multiplier adjusts.

If someone could do that to lay the fears to rest, I would be GRATEFUL
and I'd probably even send ya a reward!

Perhaps the person originating the second link above can verify this to your satisfaction. Mine should be here soon, and I will reply as soon as I know for myself. I too ordered one from Mwave. I don't have a digital camera, but I'll answer any ? when I get it.

That's a good question Penchie. How can one store be the sole supplier of these boards right now? The cynic in me sees it as clever marketing - advertise Pro2's, then send everyone Pro's which buys some time for the real Pro2's to arrive and by then you've got a captive market with all these people who've paid their money already. How many will cancel their orders and pay a restocking fee? Most will accept an exchange for what they paid for in the first place.

Got mine 2 days ago, it is definately the Pro2 with the Gold heatsink and 7 large capacitors.
Fired a 900 TBird right up and set it to 9.5 and 950mz no problem at default voltage
Have it running at 1 Gig now at default voltage.
I will wait until I get a better fan to go higher,
No digital camera to prove it, beleive me it's definately a Pro 2
The box even says pro2

Heres the part number on the box G11-CB00049 AND CODE KEY says K7T PRO2 0010003585

I have the Abit KT7 Raid also., my findings are the MSI Pro2 is more compatible with Ram, I can run my PC150 in Turbo or fast on the MSI, with the Abit normal is the limit.
Also voltages are much more stable in the MSI Pro2 board, due to the large battery like capacitors. It oc/much easier than the KT7 Raid
My 1 gig T Bird in the Abit goes only to 1050, on the MSI Pro2 I had it at 1100 with no problems.
I didn't try any higher, but I'm betting it will do 1200.
I built this MSI Pro2 board for a friend, so I have to kiss it goodby tomorrow, I'm going to order the MSI Pro2 for myself and sell the KT7 Raid board, witch is a very good stable board also.but I have a Promice ATA 100 card just waiting to go into a nice new MSI Pro2 board, so as I won't lose my ATA 100 hard drives.

Koodoos to MSI as this is my first board from them., and I must say it's one sweet board.
Can't wait to get one for me. It's nice to try before you buy.
I also like the box with the Space ships. pretty cool looking.

Well my Pro2 is up and running...I didn't even format!! just dropped all the new stuff in and off she went..I have played Q3a UT and pga 2000 without a hickup...This OC utility is cool..I played with it a little but heck I have a 1gig cpu anyway

Pretty neat to watch it setting the oc setting automatically!!
I give this board a big thumbs up..I went from a P3800 asus p3v4x combo to the 1gig pro2 setup..I have to say I am happy as a lark!!!!

Still looking for my board ...should be here Monday.
Oh.... for the naysayers, when I called Mwave and spoke to Jaun in tech...he pulled it out of the box...and it read Pro 2....and then he took it to Yvonne in the RMA dept., who was to make sure that I got the 2 this time.
Time will tell for sure, but I am pretty confident all will work out.

Oh, one other thing. In regard to why Mwave seems to be the only one that has the 2 ...maybe MSI is shipping the 2 (new model) and they have not caught on that it is a new model ...still selling it as the 1.
The reason I say that is I had called few other places before ordering from Mwave...and they were all just out of stock on the board Pro or 2...period.

WHY BELIEVE THE BOX???

I had MWAVE take one back to their tech dept.
and hook it up to a test bench.

1. THE BOX SAID PRO2
2. I had the guy look at the markings between the slots and he said it said k7t pro (not pro2)
3. They said the bios contained nothing concerning multiplier adjustments
4. They said the chipset sink was green (EVERYONE has said the PRO2 is gold)

Then they ship you a Pro.

Do you see why I'm suspicious and possibly why you should scrutinize with them a little
more than &quot;What does the box say guys?&quot;

I'll ask it again....because so far everyone's a no show

If someone has indeed recieved a PRO2, can you take a pic of the markings
on the board between the slots (I DON&quot;T CARE WHAT THE BOX SEZ)

If I can get someone to do this, then I'm orderin two of em from Mwave, but
so far, MWave hasn't satisfied my longing for proof.

Do you think that after 2 weeks that Mwave would still list the Pro2 on their site if they did not have it? They have even lowered the price to $111! Granted that some people have received the Pro1 by accident. Mwave is correcting this problem at no cost to the customer. If anyone is at fault it is MSI. The way I see it you can take your chances with Mwave now, and maybe have to exchange the board if you get the Pro1, or just wait until someone else gets it in stock in which case you may still have the same problem. What other company would take the time to open the box and look at a product before they shipped it, if you called and asked them to? Not many I would guess, and would they even know what they were looking at? I have not received my Mobo yet (due to train derailment..grrrr) but, I KNOW if there is a problem it will be corrected one way or the other with no extra cost to me. This is how Mwave has always conducted themselves with me. Just my $0.02

Hey Penchie if you don't beleive me well it's your loss, it does say Pro 2 on the box, it does say K7TPro in between the slots, it does have multiplyer adjustments to 12.5x and voltage adjustments.
I cannot take a picture of it because I just dropped it off to the people I set it up for and installed their new monitor and printer and scanner.
I then set their 900mz TBird to 9.5x for a nice 950mz clock as they don't want to set it any higher.
I bought the 900mz T Bird combo for 312.00 and it is definately a K7T Pro2 with the nice Gold heatsink and 7 large capacitors.
I think if your that ignorant to not believe it, it's your loss.
I'm ordering myself one Monday and selling my Abit KT7 Raid.
Good luck waiting., THEY'LL PROBABLY BE SOLD OUT BY THE TIME YOU ORDER.

I am putting another 128meg of pc 150 ram in it, but not until Wed.
I got a free 640x480 elcheapo camera they gave me for setting it up. Not counting the free software and $100.00 to boot.
I'll take a picture of it when I install the ram.
Then you can eat your disbeleiving words.
