Ok, guys.........
Bash me all u want but here is what I found out this morning.
I placed an order for two Pro2 boards Sun eve. after a gentleman
was kind enuff to oblige me in my quest for a photo of the elusive
beast, the 2....sure enuff, between the slots said 2! MWave's website
said that it was a Pro2 of course, like everyone has reported.
I called this morning to caution them against makin the same
error as they did with Neos who began this thread and I spoke
with Peter.
Peter stated that my order showed up as a Pro, not a 2
to which I directed Peter to their own webpage where it showed a 2
he stated it did not, and I then went to the page and sure enuff.....
no more 2's, go check fer yerself.
I of course cancelled the order.
Trying to uncover the enigma of the elusive twos from the one and single
only store that had them, I contacted MSI and the girl Michelle I spoke
with stated that a distributor was sent 35 pre production boards as well
as 40 production boards from
Taiwan in error and that apparently Mwave ended up with them.
Now they're gone, and so the mystery ends.........
I asked her how u tell a production board from a pre production board
and she stated that the production boards come with all attachment
hardware as well as the rear socket plate, which the pres do not.
According to Davie Petrose with Ingram Micro, all you guys that got pro2's
got the same pre production board that Henry reviewed.......or a production
board in the case of about 60 percent of the bunch
not necessarily a bad thing as they probably function flawlessly, but
at least I now know what the answer to the riddle was "why only one shop in
the whole country"
Guess I have another week to wait for the other shops to get em in, but
as for now MWave is in the same boat as everyone else, sellin Pros.........
Thanks
Penchie
