I decided to try ATI/AMD bitcoin mining, so I bought an MSI R4890-T2D1G-OC.
My problem is that it hangs when a restart is required. I don't think it's a driver issue. I say that because it hangs when I do a BIOS setting change. Once saved, the system reboots. The R4890 LED's light up and then it just hangs. I have to physically power off the system, then restart it to get it to boot normally.
I've experienced it in 2 different motherboards. Here are some specs.:
Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe/Wireless (Current MoBo)
Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 rev.2 (Previous MoBo, same issue)
Athlon x2 7750 Black (Same issue in Gigabyte MoBo)
Phenom x4 9850 Black AM2+
OCZ Gold 4x2gb DDR2-800 (Same issue in Gigabyte MoBo with 2x2gb RAM)
Corsair HX620w PSU
Everything at Default speeds, no OC'ing. Also tried with just 1 stick of RAM, same issue.
Also, same issue on different monitors. DVI to VGA adapter and straight DVI cable, no difference.
The Gigabyte system had no issues while using a Leadtek 6600GT. The Asus board also rebooted without issue using an old Vanta PCI card for a BIOS flash.
Any insight appreciated.
