I am trying to catch up in this thread and am at this post of yours to which I feel a need to stop reading and respond to. I think you are a good and well intentioned person. I think you get screwed miss seeing how what some call pedantic inclinations, what I would call a fixation on some particular tree makes you miss the forest or the larger context in which you speak. I understand your point but your need to make sure everybody gets it kind of makes everything get off more important points. Not everybody is patient and willing to deal with that. Some of us are better at it, I think. I also know that having been described in a way that may be hard for you to actually see or agree with has caused you to test and seek deeper understanding. Personally, I don't really like people making fun of you. Hope this helps.

But I was not trying to talk about the larger context. I was answering a simple question. A question which seemed to be misunderstanding what the indictment was about. If I were not fixated on my point, then I would be accused of deflecting and buckshitting. If I stick to it, I'm pedantic but also more likely to stay on the original thing I wanted to talk about, so I choose to do the 2nd most often.

As for people making fun of me, meh. This is a tech forum where I am talking about non tech issues with people that I dont really know. I would assume I would get along with the vast majority of people here in RL, but, online people act differently. I do the same as the way I dig and pick at topics is to get to the things I'm interest in. Doing that type of thing in RL annoys people so I don't do it. So if people want to insult me, go ahead so long as you are staying on topic. I'm sure I might get upset a few times as I'm human, but generally I don't take it too personal. If people want to vent and take out their frustrations but keep on topic or having a good conversation then I'm game.

No, I entertain nothing. I lack belief in either direction. Do you believe that lack of belief on a subject is buying into a conspiracy?
It is when you identify what you claim you don't believe in. By the way I don't believe you beat your girlfriend although I have no proof you don't.

By the way also, now that I've caught up with the thread, woofe explained this point better than I did here earlier in the thread,

When is Rosenstein getting the boot .. we should have a poll on it. Trump is out of options, the last option just got worse but he has to take it, Rod is going down, question is when.

I think he lost the chance. This indictment killed the Trump/Nunes/GOP narrative that this has been some kind of hoax and malicious prosecution of Trump. It's hard to believe a week ago some believed a memo would discredit this investigation. Well played Mueller.

Let's go to fantasy land and say we proved that Trump indeed had nothing to do with Russia's actions in our election whatsoever.

What do you think should be done about his refusal to acknowledge and act against this hostile action, and in particular his blatant refusal to implement sanctions passed by Congress?

I wouldn't put it in those terms, but you raise an interesting point. Let us say that Trump was completely unaware of any collusion that might have occurred between his campaign & Russian efforts. Simply oblivious. Let's go even further & posit that there wasn't any collusion at all.

That doesn't change the fact that trumpsters ended up marching arm in arm with skilled Russian propagandists. One big happy, everybody in it for the MAGA. Anybody who believes that or who is willing to overlook it really isn't thinking straight.

I agree that it just got much much worse ... but options?

Hey mister, state your point succinctly then go ahead and have faith in yourself that you've said what you needed to say in full then leave it at that. By belaboring the issue you invite judgement. Seriously, you've made your point. Not everyone is going to agree. Not everyone wants to hear it. You've convinced all those who can be, to understand and/or agree.

Here's to hoping you figure out how to have confidence in what you feel you need to say. I'm rooting for ya man because well, you're being tedious.

I get that you as well as others believe that can be how people try to say something without actually saying it. But given the context of someone asking you "do you believe he beats his gf?" your response would seem reasonable. It only seems unreasonable if you assume bad intentions. You will see that some did not and it ended. The ones that do not like me are the ones that are dragging it out.

It also appears like the Russians were supporting Bernie before they supported Trump.

Sure, they were against Ted Cruz too. They ended up being more than satisfied with Trump.
Propping Bernie up could easily have been to split the Democratic vote.

So your point is that the whole election is in question and Trump shouldn't be president? Good on ya man!

It seems like an all out anti-Hillary assault more than pro-Bernie/Trump.
But then add the meetings (no one in Trump's camp can recall) with Russian agents and Trump's campaign... What kind of picture does that point for you?

I think they should release the Facebook/Twitter content with timelines then the public can research whether or not it moved the needle.

The pro Bernie stuff was to attract those that had a huge distaste for trump and it played on their, already in the works, anti Hillary propaganda the GOP has been using for years.

I believe they showed some/all the memes a while ago.
And I think some of the fake Facebook groups were in the indictments.

I get that, but I can also find new interesting things. I also use this forum to explore how people interact. I don't do things to provoke, but, this forum allows me to be more direct on some topics.

For example, if the person I originally responded to were to make that statement in RL and I were to give my response, people would get annoyed and think "what a know it all, who cares". That is because his statement was really rhetorical and just a way for him to vent about Russia and the Right. So in rl would just ignore it and say nothing.

We are not in RL, so the backlash here is confined. If I don't log in, it ends. So I say, what the hell and speak when I'm curious.

Now, most people do not think of this forum that way. So they see me doing things that they think signal I'm this or that, because, in RL things move fast so you have to take shortcuts. So when statement A is made that is pro X, and I disagree with any part of statement A, I must be in support of Y that is in opposition. Logically that is wrong, but that is how most think.

But, if I can get the information I am seeking then I'm fine with the judgements.

Now, I'm not cruel so if I think someone is suffering I stop. I have sent PM's to people to check up on them. My goal is to be entertained, but I also have a compassion for people, so if people get too upset it loses it's fun and I stop.
