Music throughout the home

Is there a program that can stream the exact same music to multiple computers at the same time?

I want to be able to hit play on my server and be able to access that playing music on any computer in the house (And connected stereo / av system / etc.)

I believe Apple's Airport express has this feature, but it seems stupid to me to have to buy a device for each room when there is a fully funtional / networked PC sitting htere already.

I used to listen to my friend's music through that. You can even use plugins to update a website to display what the song is.

itunes can find shared music if itunes is installed and set to "share music" on each computer.

works between macs and pcs too. my bro tried it on his powerbook G4 and my intel p4 2.4C pc. worked perfectly.

Sounds like the way to go. As I believe winamp will run on linux I can even use my hacked x-boxes as streamers!
