IMHO, the MX700 is too heavy to be effective as a gaming mouse. I use the MX500 with the weight removed and it works great.

You wont' see anybody using cordless mice for professional gaming. You need the lightness for faster movement and no matter what anyone says, cordless doesn't offer the performance of a corded mouse. Someday technology will allow for this but not in this generation of mice.

Nobody mentioned the MX300, is it that bad? How is it compared to the MX500? Is it more comfortable therefore better for your hands?

The MX300's movement is just as good as the MX500, since they both use the MX optical engine. Then disadvantage of the MX300 is that it doesn't have thumb buttons. The advantages of the MX300 are that it is cheaper and albeit lighter.

Some people prefer the "classic" shape of the MX300 (I'm not one of them).

i've had wireless in the past, and i hate anything wireless. MX-500 is a fantastic mouse.

well i'm sure your basing your opinion on past wireless mice which had a sorry refresh fo 50hz. mx700 refresh is no different from the corded.

Not true. I have a mx 700 and sometimes it slows down to a trickle and I have to move the base in order for it to go back to normal. My base is only 15 inches away too. He is right. A wired "anything" is more reliable than cordless.

Slightly off topic but here`s a mouse bungee review I was on about earlier ,would be an excellent match for the MX500.

I've not had ANYTHING to gripe about with the MX700. No lag(that I notice), charges last a long time, just a really good mouse overall.
