My CD Burner won't work

I recently installed Win 2000 Professional onto my computer, and now my CD burner won't work. When I go to the device manager, it says that the burner is working properly, and the drivers are correct. It can read CD's okay, but when I try to burn a CD, something pops up that says, "Unknown SCSI Request Block Status: E3 (Hex)" And if I try and skip through that and burn a CD, my NTI CD-Maker Pro says, "No supported CD recorder was detected on your system" but on my device manager, the drive is CD Writer IDE 4x4x32. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks in advance...

Try different burning software.

you need to install an ASPI layer.
try using ForceAspi from here. the unzipped file has full instructions on how to use it!

Run a google search on forceaspi and you'll come up with several.

ok, I downloaded the ASPI software, but it asks what program I want to open this file with. WHich do I pick? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I don't know much about computers...
