My GF2 Pro arrived...

And seems to have solved all my stability problems. Been running it for well over an hour now, without any problems. Damn thing seems to love 240/466, too. That + a 1400 TBird gives 204 fps @ Q3 fastest.

Damn I love hardware.



My only question now is how do I get reference drivers to recognize the TV-out? I thought TV-out support was included in the reference drivers (and there's a tab for it), but the TV option is grayed out. Can it detect whether or not I have a TV connected via S-Video?

I don't know anybody who plays Q3 with the graphics set to fastest. :disgust:

But 1024x768x32, with all options cranked as high as they'll go yields 120 fps. Even that's nothing to be ashamed of.

The GF2 is overclocked from 200/400 to 240/466. I haven't tried faster yet. The CPU is a TBird 1 GHz @ 1400 (140/280 FSB).

I think you have to have the Svideo cable hooked up to get the option of outputting to a TV.

OK, I'll give it a shot... Do I need to shut down the computer to hook up the S-Video cable, or is it safe to do it while it's running?

I'm a little new to TV-Out..

Better safe than sorry.

Power down and plug in the S-video cable. On bootup into Windows, head over to the Display Properties and TV-out should be a choosable option.

Hmmm I know from working with the video out on my Viper II that you have to have all the video cables plugged in before powering on the system becuase the signal is detected at boot up, the TV/projector also had to already be on - otherwise the video out options were greyed out in control pannel.

Thats all I can offer about video out.

I got the TV out working. 640x480 would be acceptable for browsing the forums, but not much else. I was unable, however, to try Q3, since it said it was "unable to load OpenGL Subsystem" when the output was set to TV.

What fun is TV-out if you can't play Quake on it?
