My House and Trance Mixes

Well, seeing we've been having a few music contribution threads lately, I decided to chip in. Here's a mix I recorded for my friend's Halloween party a little over a week ago. All the tracks are dance remixes of popular songs so if any of you listen to BPM81 on XM radio, you'll know what I'm talking about.

This isn't my normal style of music since I normally spin trance, but I figured I'd try something different. I really didn't practice/plan this mix out and it was recorded live in 1 take, so there are errors here and there.

It may be a little cheesy for you trance lovers, but let me know what you think.

As many requested, here is my trance mix. It's a pretty big file (180 megs and almost 160 mins long). This mix was another unplanned, pulled out of my ass, mix and surprisingly it turned out pretty well. There's a few trainwrecks, but what else would you expect from a bedroom dj. The mix starts out slow and vocal-ish, but gets harder halfway through.

After not touching my turntables in 2 months, I decided to put together another mix right before the years end. This mix is my top 25 trance tunes of 2007, mixed in no particular order. It's 160megs and almost 2.5 hours long. Mixing is so-so on this one as I really didn't plan this out other than pick the songs in advance. Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

Lol, I don't see why not. The tracks are all mixed together, so they're not full versions of the song anyways. It's pretty much like making a mixtape and giving it to your buddies...

I had some clipping going on while I was recording it, so that may be why. Also, I'm using FinalScratch so I think that also could be a reason.

Ah, sounds pretty "good" on my computer speakers here at work. At home, not so much

I haven't done any mixing so I don't know the limitations of the software (nor the hassles of recording/mixing).

If it wasn't on AT, i wouldn't touch this, as it's too club-tastic for my taste.
A little cheese doesn't hurt once n a while though.

I'd very much like to check out your trance mix though.

not bad so far, i know its a party mix and as such is kinda supposed to just play along in the background of a house party, but for me the tracks play a little too long. then again i am used to DJ's who play at break dancing events and they cut n scratch and change records like theyre going out of fashion. Having said that carl cox has been known to get really fast with the tracks.....

i remember a 30 minute mix he did for Seb Fontaine on BBC Radio 1. 30 minutes and he crammed in around 10-11 tracks..... best mix i have ever heard from anyone to date. to be honest i dont think it can be bested. he played Underground by the Rhythm Masters and that has to be one of my all time favourite tunes ever.

indamix i have a friend who is a budding dj and i have one of his live mixes, its kinda the same style as this, though his track selections are alot more housey, where as this has a lot of commercial influence from popular rock/pop/hiphop his tends not to.

i can try find a way to host it if u like
