My IBM t42 screen ?

Ok my t42 is about hmm 3 months old and i have notice that i have dark spots on the screen like they are burses(sp?). they are not dead pixel but at those spots it shifts the color a darker hue i guess. When i rotate the screen at a different angle(say acute or obtuse) you can not see these dark spots.

Anyclue, remedy??

I can't resend it back to IBM as i would be out of a laptop till it gets fixed which is no-no for me while i am in college.

don't have a digital camera...

Is there anything to clean the screen... (hopeing it is something that i can't get off with a soft rag)

Think about the marks like a dirty glass. Where those spots are it is little dirty to see through..

I think I know what you're referring to. - and if I do these spots/smears are caused by you or someone else POKIN' YER DAMN FINGERS AT THE DISPLAY! the smudges are from the oil that we all have on our skin.. STOP PUTTIN' YER DAMN FINGERS ON THE DISPLAY! -

in seriousness, I have a T-42 and also do my fair share of pokin' (woo-woo! :laugh: ) and just use a SLIGHTLY damp (h2o NOT Windex!) lint-free paper towel to wipe it clean. I've also found that the 3-M static-wipe thingys work fairly decent as well.

Nope doesn't come off with a towel wet or dry. Not cause my my fingers lol.

It seems like it is on the other side of the display... :. (

the dark spots could've been a pressure spot. i have a t42p, and i also have one...apparently i dropped something on the outside of the screen when it was on the ground or something

pressure spots occur cause you place too much pressure on the ouside of the screen, and therefore, you get a pressure spot..unfortunately..i don't know of any way to fix it, besides sending it in and claiming that it's a bad screen just dying on you.

try standard soap and water. nothing more. do not use any detergents but soap. and use it sparingly. then leave it off for a bit to dry.
