My new pc

I got a new pc about 45 days ago . I got to pick the case and the watercooling system.
Amd or intel cpu. nvidia or ati.
So here's what I got V1000lian li case with built in Koolance 700watt cooling/Corsair 5400ul memory 4x512 only 2x512 installed(waiting for bios update)Pc power and cooling510 watt PS X1800Xl.Dual layer DVD.. To be replaced free of Charge when Blu ray or HD is available. G80 or R600 when available(Free of charge) .Intel P4670.
The Cpu is O/C @4.4 GHz x1800xl is O/C core 625 memory 650. Storm W/B for cpu
Maze 4 W/B for video card. Xp pro. Word and 5 games installed. Abit AW8. 21" samsung LCD 16x12 Razor mouse Exactmat X speed Microsoft media keyboard. Creative Fatality 1 sound card. This machine comes O/C as stock with a full 5 year warranty on all parts except the DVD drive and water cooling system . They are manufacture warranty.
2 seagate 160gig hard drives Raid 0.( I could have the hardrives configured anyway I wanted.
The Bios is locked and I can have the pass word but it voids my warranty. Also he installed a link to CCC and ati tool . That reports to his server when i go in and what i do.
My dad paid $ 5100 + tax.
I want to get a 7800 GTX 512 to put in it and I ordered one from the builder for $699.+tax and shiping. The builder will install it and sell my old card. But says there will be no O/C with this card.. Says I can install it and he will remove the links and he will let me have the man. warranty. What do you think did Dad pay to much.

Next time before you go out and get your dad to buy a system PLEASE for your sake and our sanity?.. Post here beforehand.

Overall its a very fast computer and should do everything you want it to BUT

For that amount of cash you could of purchased the best of the best and let me tell you this thing isn?t it ?..!

You would of been ?allot? better off with a Dual Core Athlon64 X2 4800+ with Two Geforce7800GTX cards in SLI from Alienware. but IF !!! and only IF this place makes good on that FREE videocard upgrade then your deal has at least 1 good point to it.
That?s so long as the place doesn?t go out of business ^__^ ? And then your F#%$#ed

PS: I wouldn?t want my PC to be monitored by ANYONE!!! That whole thing makes me sick ? but if you trust this guy then the extra tech support he can provide may be helpful to you!

Ya he wanted me to go AMD FX and he mentioned AMD dual cores .

I wanted an Intel setup. He did tell me that when the conroe cpu's come out he would replace the M/B and Cpu at cost and sell my old stuff for me . I can also get AMD stuff at cost. Free labor can't beat that.

Other people in this area trust him 100% and he does cater to his customers.

He showed me how the link worked and assured me that he could be trusted more than Sony or microsoft.
Many people around here say he's the best. I guess he fixes people PC'S really cheap .

I asked what the most common problem he runs into is . He told me that people going to porn sites and picking up spyware and trojans was the most common thing . Corrupted files on the HD. He showed me how to fix corrupted files so I could help my friends. But asked me not to do it on this PC as he would rather fix it till its off warranty.

Ya I trust him. More important my dad trust him.

We talked about Sli and he told my Dad and me that he doesn't do sli . Than He showed us bench marks . Showing Last gen compared to next gen cards. He convinced me and my dad that what he was saying was correct. One thing I did notice he got pretty upset about the LCD I wanted But I insisted. For some reason he wanted to install a gateway had something to do with Vista. I didn't understand what he was talking about. I really like my samsung.

Wow, what an overkill PC. Why did you want it OC'd?

Paid too much, Idk, because of all that OCing work, it takes a long time, and you did get some pretty crazy peices. You probably could've gotten a cheaper but still fast PC if you didn't have all that OCing done. IMO OCing is a waste of time, although you didn't do it, and the possible system instability isn't worth the performance, however, that's your bag and his bag. As long as he can guarrantee stability.

Shoudda gone with AMD. Any PC builder is better than anything like Sony, Dell or HP, as long as he is trustworthy. People and the porn sites is very true.

the sad thing is frugle people on this forum can spend under $1k and get just as fast of a machine if not faster if they are good at OC..no intel though.

He gave my dad ever receipt and we added it up the parts with shipping and tax came to $3900. And I still get a G70 Or R600 and blu ray or Hd . 5 year warranty. He does get the X1800Xl back . So whats that worth $100 in a year. Max he well ever make on this Pc is $500. I got what I wanted and I got it Cheap.

Dad asked how he could do a 5 year warranty . So he told us . We Both laughed and smiled. This guy is smart.

Oh ya for the poster who said he could do This for $1000 . Dad's right here telling me to make a bet . You have to use all new parts and well bet you $1000. it can't be done put up or shut up .

$300 Operon 165, oc to 2.4Ghz stock Vcore + 2X 512 corsair valueram PC3200 $70, abit Nforce4 KN8 (300HTT) $58, + Antec case with 400W PS $99.99, HD look in hot deal forum...$40 for 80G, get 2 for raid0 SATA300 w/ CQ, + Gefoce7800GTX $320 = $928 and buy any keyboard, floppy, mouse under $25 and some BF dual layer DVD for $30...and with shipping you will stay well under $1k

If you are lucky, with TT Big Ty, you can probalby get your opa to 2.6-2.7Ghz ....now you are in the AMD FX60 and beyond...

I'm glad your dad has a lot of money to blow on your CPU. You guys must be well off. However, despite how much money you spent on it, you did get ripped off and that is the fact.

The previous poster who suggested that an O/C opteron build is better is probably right, although for a really decent complete rig, you should look around $1000-1500 for the tower, $2000 including everything (monitor, gaming mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc...).

I am sorry also hear that you picked ATI and Intel. You should have chosen Nvidia and AMD as the highest end products from the latter two companies outperform the former two in the majority of games and applications respectively.

On the bright side, you get free upgrade to G80/R600! I am not sure how your sales is planning to do this but all the power to him.
