My thoughts on Newegg.com

Man, New Egg is great.

Story:

On black friday, I bought a few items from a few sites, mainly Dell and Newegg. The stuff I bought from Newegg arrived on Wed and the stuff from dell is delayed another week (To the 10th)! So much for "free two day shipping" :|

Anyway, my first experience with Newegg was a very good one. In fact, two more items that I ordered on Mon just arrived today. (Free Saver Shipping)

Just thought I might reassure you that, yes, Newegg does indeed rock.

I have never had anything but problems when purchasing from newegg. The level of incompetance and complete lack of good customer service forced me to buy from other locations. It wasn't an isolated incident either, as all 5 purchases I ever made from there got screwed up.

Hmm weird, Newegg was among the first to deliver when I purchased my computer. 2 days (along with Monarchcomputer). Their shipping costs can be kind of weird though, 5 dollar shipping on a 5 dollar fan? Hmm.

I've never had any problems with Newegg. I can always count on having their products shipped to me a day early.

I don't depend on newegg as heavily for my shopping, as they are in CA and the tax usually ruins whatever deals they may be offering. But when I am ordering something in a hurry they usually come through, I only had to rma once, and it was handled pretty well.
They are really close to where I live so whatever shipping method I choose ends up being like overnight delivery.

Mwave is the same way for me.

I used to solely use Newegg until they started charging Tennesseans sales tax. Since then it's always been ZipZoomFly unless I'm getting in on a slickdeal.net or fatwallet bargain from some place else. Comparable prices and sometimes their stuff would arrive quicker than it would from Newegg. I've yet to have an RMA experience with them so I can't comment on how they compare with Newegg in that regard.

Ive had no problem with Newegg or a plethora of other online retailers...ive yet to get flat out burned buying from an online retailer and some have seemed pretty risky.

My point is Newegg is great but move around some...try out several etailers because in the end the more etailers that survive the better prices we will get..

Dell's shipping is actually very fast as long as they have the item in stock.

Newegg and Dell are my favorites for hardware stuff.

They're nothing special. Good prices on some stuff, some not so good. They DO charge a restocking fee, reguardless, if you return. I do 99% of my business with buy.com. They are great about returns, they ship fast even with free ship it goes out fast. And many of their prices beat newegg. I returned an opened & used printer to buy.com and got 100% refund. Newegg would NEVER do that! Buy.com also pays for returning to them often.

I have purchased from Amazon, Buy.com, Newegg, Outpost, and Computer Geeks in the last year. All of them have been fantastic. Newegg has had the only defect part and they shipped the replacement out and gave me a shipping credit on the RMA.


I miss the dot.com days where you could make money by purchasing things though... (where are you onsale.com?)

i buy most of my computer parts from them, not a single problem, their RMA worked for me, they pay the return overnight and same from the product comming the whole process was only 3 days, zipzoomfly,com is very reliable too.

I really like ZZF because they have reliable shipping with no shipping charges, however their selection is a bit limited, and some of their prices are kind of high.

newegg just has the best site layout compared to other stores, and their rma process is 100% ideal. User feedback on every item, detailed pictures of every item, and free shipping on half the items. Thats why I usually spend a few $$ more just to buy from them.

I waited what I considered a long time for my last newegg order.
I ordered free saver shipping which appears to be a bad thing to do if you live in Texas.
My order took like 5 business days to get here with a weekend sandwiched in the middle for like 7 days total on a single lcd monitor.

Before that I have ordered various parts and they send them from tennessee so nothign special on the shipping end. Fairly standard.

I like newegg but will up the ante and pay 2 day shipping with the rush order as well.
I dont wanna wait a week.

Newegg has like 4 big warehouses so it probably depends where you are located.

Two years ago, newegg shipped me a "whisper-quiet" Antec True-330 that sounded like a 737 on take-off. They sent a call-tag to pick it up. Then they wouldn't replace (suddenly all True Antecs were OOS). I called, they said I'd get credit...but I needed a PSU, the rest of my machine was waiting. I asked about the Enermax. They shipped it free, and they sent me a refund check for my shipping for the Antec on top of it.

Just got a 100 cake of RiData DVD discs Wednesday for $30 AR that arrived two days after I ordered. Every order I've placed with them has arrived within a few days. I don't order everything thru them, but I usually go after the better deals when they come up.

Great service. Good people. Nice prices, sometimes great prices.

And that Enermax is still powering my 1.6a system at 2.4G.

I'll keep shopping there, until I'm dead or they piss me off

All of my comments have shown up, even the negative ones. It may take a week or so, but they show up.

I have left several over months ago...especially on a POS modem that they are the only ones who sell it.................my review never showed up. I did word it differently than "Dude, this modem sucks" though. I did mention that the company who made it does not support it and that Newegg was the only retailer of it.:|
