My Wireless Connection isn't working!

So I buy a new Netgear 108 mbps router, and before this, everything was fine, I could connect to my neighbor's connection no problem But however, after trying to install this new router, on the wireless network settings, it says:
"Windows cannot configure this wireless connection"
"If you have enabled another program to manage this wireless connection, use that software."

It's happened for all other wireless connections everywhere else now, and i don't know what to do. Do I reinstall something? I know the router works, as i've gotten a wired ethernet connection going through it right now, but I can't seem to configure it for wireless.

I'm using the Intel Pro 3945 btw

This has nothing to do with installing a new router. XP cannot configure your wireless adapter because some other software is doing it. Use that software to configure it to connect to your new router.

There use to be a dsl or cable modem plugged into the computer?
Now cable/dsl modem is plugged into router which is plugged into computer?

Old cable/dsl modem software possibly messing it up?

The "other software" that volrath (and Windows) referred to is the configuration utility that came with the wireless adapter. In your case, that would be the Intel ProSet utility. (Look on the Windows START menu under Programs>Intel ProSet.) Use that utility to configure your wireless connections, or open the utility and select the option within the utility that allows Windows to configure the connections instead.
