1. The PC's going to be used for watching high-quality videos, encoding videos, word processing, very occasional gaming, and a hell lot of compiling.

I'm going to be running Gentoo Linux so I need full linux compatibility with the parts. I'm aware that ATI absolutely sucks with linux so I went with nVidia. Any other information that might help the computer run smoothly on linux would help.
