Lets see what EA do... after all what tell u if a game is good or bad... is how much revenue it generates to the developers.. not a review page like gamespot.. ign or something...

Time will tell.. I mean a few months into the market.. and if they manage to sell NFS2008... then we are going to see tons of NFS20xx from now on... no matter review....

is like.... If u are an artist and care about art and gameplay.. ok.. make a game with such things... thats what matter to you... but in the case of NFS.. is...

The game generates cash... keep ebaying those things.... i mean selling those things...

Havent played it yet but if its better than Carbon and ProShit then i may get this if I can get it cheaper than 25 bucks. So it will probably tank and in a month I can get it at J and R for 15-20 bucks.

That is totally wrong. NFS always had good sales, because it has that name and because there are a lot of kids that will buy and play it, no matter how crappy it is, just because it's fun. There is nothing intelligent in it, but they play it, because it's so cool to mod the cars and there are chicks on the side of the road when you start the race. Great stuff!!

People are getting tired of this type of gameplay.

That is totally wrong. NFS always had good sales, because it has that name and because there are a lot of kids that will buy and play it, no matter how crappy it is, just because it's fun. ok, so the game is awesome for the new generation of players... but sucks for old school people????

It got a 5.0 on IGN, which means it has to be pretty bad since they're usually pretty lenient on big titles.

With that review under it's belt and the fact that is has SecuROM on the disc with a 5 install limit, means a definite pass for me. I even liked prostreet. Maybe not as much as other NFS titles, but it really wasn't too bad IMO. Underground however, sounds utterly crappy.

I was wondering why GameSpot hasn't done a review yet, then I received an email from them promoting some NFSUG event. If it sucks that badly and they're promoting it, probably won't see a review from them until at least a week after release.

edit: I take that back. There's actually a video review that's buried on the site. Adam gives very little opinion on it and pretty much just tells you the basics.

What would be the ultimate combination for NFS?

I would say the following would be great (Reference: I have played NFSUnderground 1 + 2, Most Wanted, Carbon and Pro Street)

1) Carbon's graphics
2) Most Wanted's gameplay structure
3) Underground 1's soundtrack

I would expect people from the "golden age" of NFS would add to that something like Porsche Unleashed's car handling or Hot Pursuits game modes.

Seriously, they have all of the ammunition to make an absolutely awesome game and they blow it every time now. I will not be purchasing Undercover.

I don't know about you, but the graphics were horrible on my 7900 GTO. I had everything on high and the game looked bad. I can also see the <hit tab to enter race> getting really and the dvd video interludes getting really repetitive. It's like EA is covering up their crap game with scenes they shot with a camera.

EA: to make a good NFS again, please do the following: revert back to the formula that made Hot Pursuit 2 and Porsche Unleashed great. Include police, delete the street racing crap, improve graphics to take advantage of current gpu horsepower, don't include dvd video, include a wide range of cars, etc.

I have to disagree with you thegimp03. EA: to make a good NFS again, please do the follwing: LET SOMEONE ELSE MAKE IT! Other than that I basically agree with you.

EA just made a bigger but bland looking world and then cut&pasted features from previous titles into it while downgrading the quality of those features across the board. EA is neither a game publisher nor a game developer. They are a factory, they are the McDonalds of the gaming industry. They aspire not for excellence, they just aspire to empty your wallet just before Christmas.

I actually have been having quite a bit of fun playing Undercover. The racing has been fun and the graphics acceptable. Also, the storyline (not that it makes a whole lot of difference) is a bit different from the other NFS games.

1: The graphics suck big time....it's like going back in time. How can NFS most wanted, from 2005, look better than this newer game?

2: Very fake feeling when driving. It's all wrong...

3: Aside from poor graphics, EA decided to make the game appear "washed out"...sort of yelow-ish, and also added some bloom effect that is rather annoying..

OK, people on other forums said that the game would "grow" on the player, if given enough time..

I've been playing it for a couple of days and have learned to enjoy it, definately not as bad as I thought it was in the beginning...

about undercover..... I hear there is going to be a patch that will fix the issues and improve gameplay... maybe they mail you the dvd with teh game... i mean the patch.... is this part of the new EA motto "Is on the Patch"?

u think it will really make the undercover better.. because I hope so...
