Yes, the cpu would work fine. One thing that usually is better with non-IGP boards is BIOS config options, so I highly recommend that route if you can keep it within budget. I personally recommend the Shuttle AN35N-Ultra ($55), but it is out of stock at the moment. If you were interested in the AN35N-Ultra, you could find one from another retailer or wait for Newegg to restock it (it is highly popular so it should be in soon).

crap. i was so tired and stuff last night that i didn't notice this has no onboard video. crap!

I have 5 sticks of Kingmax:
256MB PC3200 TinyBGA that says it's CL2.5, but if I run CL2.5 I get errors. Runs okay at CL3
2x256MB PC3500 that advertises 2.5 and runs fine there, also runs dual channel
2x512MB PC3500 that I bought based on the performance of the 2x256MB of the same stuff. This stuff somehow corrupts my BIOS to the point where I can't boot if I run memtest with the memory in dual channel mode. I recreated this a couple times, it's repeatable and the RAM is the cause, even at 166MHz and very loose timings they won't run in my ASUS A7N8X-E in dual channel. They work fine in single channel and will even run CL2 at PC3200 speed if you give them 2.8v (but not at 205MHz FSB).

ALL other RAM I have (about 3-4GB worth) is fine in dual channel, only the Kingmax 512 PC3200 wouldn't work in dual channel in my board.

I guess I'd call the Kingmax memory "hit or miss", which is exactly the same as I would expect from generic RAM. I don't intend on buying more Kingmax.
