Hi ramu, is the case's Power button connected to the motherboard on these pins :camera:, and it still does not turn on when you press the case's Power button?

thanks for your reply,
i checked for the pins you have mentioned in the image, they are connected to the motherboard.

I am not sure if I am missing something

Is the ATX12V cable plugged into the motherboard? The socket for this cable is near the upper-rear corner of the motherboard, above the CPU socket. It powers the CPU.

Also, sometimes the case's power button doesn't work. You can try making a momentary electrical contact between the two pins in my first picture to signal the motherboard to turn on. If that works, then check your case's power button, and see if your case's plastic front panel is completely attached to the case itself.

I also wanted to mention that Raidmax is not generally considered a very good power-supply maker, so if you have other good-quality power supplies with enough wattage for your computer, you might want to try a different power supply as a test.

i checked for the 12v powersupply in specific and found that I have not given it but gave the wrong one (4 pin of the 20+4 pin ATX supply)
I have taken that one and now connected the proper one in yellow + black color

I have switched it on again, but in vain

for the shorting, can I use any of the normal copper wire, or should I take any extra caution?

I had this doubt in the aftrenoon, and went to fry's to check the power supply, they showed that it was working when they tried with one of the mobo's thay had.

may be I will return if none of options work..

Ohhh, that isn't good :Q The voltages are not the same, so the motherboard or power supply may be damaged. Try unplugging the power supply from the wall outlet for a minute, push the case's power button to drain the capacitors, and then plug the power supply into the wall outlet again and try it now.

A metal object such as copper wire or the tip of a screwdriver would work.

I might have screwed it up big time, even the draining of capacitors and shorting with screw driver is not helping

i will take the piece to FRY's and see what can be done
But really appreciate your help. You rock...

Dumb question, but you did use the brass standoffs right? And made sure that there arent any where there shouldnt be? This can cause the board to short out and not power.
