Hey guys, I haven't been around the computer scene in awhile so I'm a little iffy on finding out whats wrong with my friends computer.
The problem is it suddenly went dead just a week ago for no apparent reason. It's an old Pentium 4 computer that hasn't caused him any problems until now. When I tried to start up the computer the fans from the vid card and heatsink were running and heat could be felt from the hard drive, but no loading from the monitor, not even to BIOS boot up, it's just blank. I've switched out the ram, hard drive, vid card, and power supply from my computer and still no boot up. So we've decided the mobo probably went dead.
Do you guys have ideas to any other problems I might not be aware of? I couldn't switch out the processor since mine is a AMD, but I'm guessing even if I were to take out the processor, the computer would still boot to BIOS and not give me the black screen of death. Am I right?
Any insight will be greatly appreciated!
