I hope this is the right forum for this. I have a Dell Latitude XPi P90T laptop. It is old but looks like new and great for email and surfing. I need to update the bios but I have a completely dead battery that will not hold any charge at all. Problem is the new A11 bios flash looks for a good battery and finds none because it is dead and halts the flash program even though the ac power is plugged into the laptop. Is there a program I can use to modify the bios and tell it not to look for the battery and is there any danger in doing this. I need to update the bios because the laptop will not load Windows 95, it loads DOS and 3.1 and runs them fine forever without any errors. When I try to load 95 from the .cab files on the hard drive I get an error message stating I have a corrupted .cab file that can not be opened. I am sure none of the cabs are corrupted and the hard drive is perfect, I can copy the cab files back off the hard drive to another machine and 95 loads perfect, already eliminated memory and cmos battery also, anyone know the answer to this one. I am thinking it is the old bios but really don't know.Thanks to everyone, I know the laptop isn't worth much but I can't stop until I have this solved
