Need Help: MP4 to DVD-Video

I'm trying to burn video DVDs of shows recorded off my TiVo. I bought the upgrade from the free TiVo Desktop software to TiVo Desktop Plus. Supposedly, that should have allowed me to burn DVDs like I want to. But, all I can seem to do with that is convert the files from .tivo to .mp4.

So, how can I burn a video DVD (that will play in any DVD player) from a .mp4 file?

I feel like I must be missing something. This should be easy, right? Thanks!

Xilisoft makes a good DVD maker, as does ConvertXtoDVD. Just load up most any format video and mash the convert button.

Most of my neighbours still watch things on DVD in spite of me telling them that a media player is the way to go. I use DVDStyler to burn almost any format to DVD:
