Need help picking fileserver components

I'm planning to build a fileserver in the near future to keep all my data in one place. The plan is to run Linux with a software RAID5 setup. It will be accessed via 100mbps ethernet, although it would be nice to have support for gigabit if I ever go that route. I'm looking for some help in choosing components for this build.

For hard drives I'm looking at the Samsung HD400LJ 400GB - $119.99 ($0.30/GB)

I'd probably be starting with 3 drives for the RAID5 setup and possibly adding an additional one or two in the future. Any better deals out there for drives of this size?

Now the rest of the components I may need some suggestions for. It's a fileserver so I won't be overclocking. It likely doesn't need much as far as CPU goes, and I'd like to keep this as inexpensive as possible.

Motherboard - probably something with onboard video and onboard gigabit ethernet would be the best route to go. The system will be accessed remotely via ssh so it won't even have a monitor after the install.

CPU - again, this doesn't have to be a powerhouse. I would however like this to be 64-bit. I was thinking of a Sempron or a low-end Athlon64.

RAM - I suppose this depends on the mobo/cpu choice, but it'll be value ram either way.

Case/Power Supply - not sure about this. Something with space for ~6 drives seems reasonable. Any recommendations? How many watts will something like this take? Would a decent 400W do the trick?

I'll also need an SATA controller unless the motherboard has enough onboard SATA ports for the number of drives I'm looking at. The key here is that all the components need to be supported natively in Linux.

Looks like 3 of the drives I'm looking at will start me at $366.84 (plus a few bucks for cables). Doing some quick browsing, I picked out a few components that I think might meet my needs:
Gigabyte GA-M51GM-S2G Socket AM2

$66.99
AMD Sempron 64 2800+
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819104301
$49.99
CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145526
$98.99
Case/Power Supply - still no idea
Subtotal = $581.81

I was hoping to do this in the range of $600-$700. That only leaves about $120 for case/power supply (I have an old CDROM drive I'll be sticking in it) unless I cut some prices down (I probably don't really need 1GB RAM). Any recommendations?

If you're not running a GUI then 1gb of ram is overkill, if you're looking to save money go with 512 or even 256. I put together a sempron 2800 & nvidia 6100 motherboard as a file server and it's far more powerful than what I need.

As for case. What about an antec slk3000. As long as space isn't a premium, it's solid and has plenty of room for expansion.
