NEED HELP QUICK PLEASE!

Ok i instaled protools becuse a frend said i could fix the voice levles on some songs i have so i installed it and there was some error and it couldent find hardware so i just clicked ok like 5 times till the bix whent away then it said it needed to restart to i restarted and windows wouldent load it just whent to a black screen so i pushed the reset butten on my computer and the nexet time it said windows faild to start up and asked if i wanted to start up in safe mode or last known good start up or boot normaly to i chose last good start up and it still dident boot so i restarted again and this time (i have a abit AN8-sli mobo) after the abit screen it goes to a page whitch comes up every time and says at the bottum checking DIM data pool then "boot from cd-rom_" twice but now it says "boot from cd-rom" then it says unable to boot disk please insert system cd or something like that. I have no idea whats wong with it and i rilly need to get back on so i would vary much apreaheate it if some one would help me out.

and a 6600gt

If it's asking You to insert a boot disk and You dont have one in the floppy or cdrom now You perty much hosed. The boot sector on Your hard drive is probably corrupted or Your missing the boot up routine for windows....so unless You made one of those backup disks from like a virus program or say norton ghost You'll probably be screwed. I personally dont know how to rebuilt the boot sector of a hard drive without one of those disks so maybe someone else could answer that question.

I would imagine if You installed windows over top of Your hard drive using the repair function it would fix the problem faster than waiting for troubleshooting advice. "Repairing" windows should preserve all Your previously installed applications and settings also.

Ok i just started it up to see what it said for sure and now it says exsactly this, "A disk read error occurred
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"

Also i dont have the win xp cd my uncle has it he used his winxp corp cd :-( he has the serial number also.
