Need help with MAX PAYNE

I have been playing the game for like 2 days now and it seems to lock up on me 30 minutes in. I'll restart and then it will run for another 30 minutes and then lock up. I have a tbird 1.2 oc at 1.33 and a epox 8k7a with 256 crucial. I also have a gladiator for a heatsink with six fans total running in the computer. My idle is around 38-40 and 50 when I am playing MAX PAYNE.

Have you updated the game? That might fix it. There's an update you can get from file planet.

I have the clone cd version off IRC so hope no one reports me but yeah i tried the patch but then both my cd rom and my burner cant read the cd... it is quite puzzling. But works fine on my room mates's computer.

It's heat. Un OC it and see if that helps.

is it really heat? Doh!! is 50 celsius too high?

Not extremely, but if you hang around enough in General Hardware, you'll hear people trying to exorcise the heat demon out of your case/processor. :Q

It's what's causing the problem. Underclock, add more fans (in the right places) or get a better HSF.
