Need help with my monitor..

Hi
My screen is suddenly a rainbow of colors. I noticed when I took out the plug that goes from my monitor to my tower there is a pin missing. Could that maybe be the problem>> Or could it be I just need it to be fixed. Thank You Cindy

your monitor may need to be degaussed check you monitor manuel to see how to do this unless its a real old model
but be sure NOT to degauss it more than once if that doesn't work then the problem is something else the degauss shouldn't be used more than once in thirty minutes an realy shouldn't use it at all unless you have a problem like your experiencing

Is the screen a rainbow of colors when you first start the machine (i.e. before Windows), or just in Windows itself? If this is a problem only within Windows, then your video card drivers have probably become corrupt, and you'll need to reinstall the drivers.

Has anything like speakers, another monitor, or a tv been placed near the monitor lately? If so and those components are unshielded, they can cause similar symptoms.

There is normally ONE pin missing. If more than one is missing, that is a problem. Otherewise sounds like you need repairs, subject to the guidelines TonyT posted.
