I have the system in my sig. I just built it yesterday and it seems to be running just fine. I checked in CPU-Z and and my CPU is jumping from 1600mhz to 2400mhz....Not sure what that means. Also my Ram is running at DDR2 806???? And its at 5-5-5-18....wtf. Im not too familiar with OCing and such but i am capable of messing with the BIOS. What do i need to do or is CPU-Z just wrong???? Also what programs can i use to make sure everything is working properly? My Quad doesnt seem to be doing anything faster than my FX-55 i had in my last system. Is this because nothing is multi threaded??

you have C1E turned on. turn it off to run 2400 mhz all the time.

im not sure why your ram is running 806 mhz, it should be 800 flat. Your timings are the default Jedec timings. If you memory is rated for lower timings, you need to go into the bios and adjust both voltage and timings.

get cinebench, and run a session on your Q6600 and on your FX55, you will notice the difference. single threaded programs will run just a bit faster than on your FX55, because at the same clock speed Core 2 is faster. overclock your cpu to 3+ ghz, and your Q6600 will wipe the floor with your FX55.

Power savings C1E and EIST are enabled, which will dynamically adjust Vcore and core speed. Abit slightly overclock the FSB, so RAM speed will be 806 vs 800.

Thanks ill give it a try!

Ok i turned off the C1E and the EIST and it wouldnt boot. So i turned EIST back on and it booted fine.....Still showing the same thing in cpu-z with C1E disabled.

What about my ram speeds...should i just manually change them and the voltage says its supposed to be 2.0 on the ram but its running at 1.8ish.

Is this even anything i need to worry about? It only drops to a 6x multiplier when its not in use right?

your ram will run fine with 1.8v at jedec timings. if however you wish to set the timings that your ram is rated for (im guessing you most likely have 4-4-4-12 ram) you need to set the voltage to 2.0 or you will have unstable memory.

nobody here suggested that you turn off C1E by the way. its a very useful feature which saves you power when your cpu is idling. usually C1E and EIST bother overclockers so we disable them, but if your going to run at stock, they are great features.
