Need HUGE Case!

I need a case with like 20 5.25" drive bays.... Long story short, I have a raid array with 4 drives, another with 2 and another with 8, so that alone is 14 and I have a DVD-R, DVD-ROM/CD-R, a few other Misc hard drives, a zip 250, a floppy, and a wattage meter. I'm hoping I can find a good one that is huge. Rackmount would be good, but tower would be ok too. I am hoping to not spend too much though, otherwise I'll have to split up my 8 array into another system. Thanks for the help!

How much you plan on spending? I did the same thing you did, (kind of), and spent $600 or so on a 23-bay server from Enermax. If you buy a server case from them, they will sell it to you directly, because the cases are impossible to find elsewhere.

Well, it's a lot of money for 14 drives, and a 20 bay case. $200 for hd coolers is nothing at that point. Not to mention the controller for the drives and all that as well...

I guess you could say that. It's definitely a server class. Dual Xeon, 2GB RAM, 1TB RAID 5 array, one kick ass PCI-X RAID controller... And a 6800 GT OC for games. (My wife bought me that) I have a PNY Quadro 4 900 XGL in the closet, but I haven't had the time to really get into my rendering, so I leave the 6800 in. . Oh, and the dual power supplies (Enermax 460 & 660w--nothing like running 1120 watts of power in a machine)... And my wife plays Guild Wars, as do I (but not as much). I also do video editing, photo editing, rendering (3DS Max), html & javascript work, and misc other stuff... Would you consider that a server?

nope, I would consider that a high end workstation. by definition a server "serves" clients.

edit: for a beast like that, I suppose you could build your own case outa wood and scavenge parts from other pc cases as needed.

I've been planning a massive 2 motherboard wood case myself.

You could always use a soft-Quadro mod on the 6800GT.

Nah... When I get back into 3DS heavily again, I'll grab me a Quadro FX 2000... I've been eyeing one of those... But for now, SETI & Guild Wars keeps my machine busy.

My mindset is "Why spend the money if you don't have to?" but that's just me.

Because it would fulfill the purpose at the time. It what I have suffices for what I need to do, then that is fine. However, if it doesn't, then I don't hesitate to replace it. Like right now, I'm in the process of replacing all the fans in the case (10) because they are just too loud.

I have 14 drives in my rig. The case is a Thermaltake Armor with 3 Supermicro drive cages. I wouldn't suggest the Thermaltake case for this application. The TT armor only has 10 useable bays which only leaves 1 bay for a cdrom. I put my cdroms in an external housig and put them on the desktop. Also... I got very bloody ripping off these steel tabs in the case that separate each 5.25" bay. If I had to do it again I would put the 3 cages in a Coolermaster Stacker and have space for 2 CD/DVD rom drives.
